Corpse found under bridge
November 29, 1988
A spokesman for the DeKalb County Coroner’s office said an autopsy revealed a man found dead Sunday underneath a railroad bridge in DeKalb died of internal injuries.
Further details into the cause of death will not be known until a toxology report is returned from the state in about five days, the spokesman said.
Kevin Clark, 25, last of Rochelle, was pronounced dead at the scene by DeKalb County Coroner Dennis Miller Sunday at 2:25 p.m.
Clark’s body was found lying on his left side on the East bank of the Kishwaukee River under the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad bridge behind the restaurant It’s Greek to Me, 232 W. Lincoln Hwy. Three people discovered the body and notified police, reports said.
Police reports state that a fire department ambulance was dispatched to the scene, but Clark was determined to have been deceased for a period of time.
DeKalb Police Sergeant Charles Kross said Monday that no foul play is suspected. However, a press release from the police department states that the police department and DeKalb County Coroner Dennis Miller are investigating the death.
NIU’s Office of Registration and Records does not have Clark listed on its data base as a student.
