Artwork complaints

ATROCIOUS! GROSS! ABOMINABLE! MONSTROSITY! These are the adjectives that come to my mind as I view the new “sculpture” which was plopped in the gorgeous park setting between Lowden and Altgeld Halls. Shouldn’t there be some limit to what can be put in public places in the name of art? Aren’t there some sort of guidelines that would include good taste? Isn’t there some dull, colorless spot on campus that could be livened up by this art piece, rather than spoiling an already beautiful natural setting? Take a look at it from the porch of Swen Parson and you’ll see what I mean.

It wouldn’t be half bad in a different setting!
