The Second Annual Huskie Mixed Pairs Invitational will be hosted Nov. 11 by the NIU men’s and women’s gymnastics programs.

NIU women’s coach Bobbie Cesarek called the event “one of the most unique and entertaining gymnastics meets around. Our goal is to continue to improve the quality and competitiveness of the meet. I think we’ve done that with the addition of some great gymnasts from outstanding programs.”

NCAA All-American and 1988 all-around-runner-up Alfonso Rodriguez of Houston Baptist is among the 10 men’s gymnasts joining with 10 women for the elimination-style meet. In addition to the host Huskies and the Huskies of Houston Baptist, the meet will feature men’s and women’s gymnasts from Arizona State, California-Berkeley, California State-Fullerton and Illinois-Chicago. Male gymnasts from Southern Illinois will team up with women’s gymnasts from Illinois State.

Tickets may be purchased through the NIU Athletic Ticket Office (106 Evans Field House). Tickets cost $4 for adults, $2 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for children four and under and for NIU students with university identification.
