UC to hold first meeting for year

The first University Council meeting of the 1988-1989 academic year will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the Holmes Student Center’s Clara Sperling Skyroom.

UC Executive Secretary Judy Bischoff said the first meeting will be “mainly organizational. We also will be getting committees in order.”

Bischoff said NIU President John LaTourette will make some announcements, the agenda will be adopted and the May 4 UC meeting minutes will be approved.

Also on the agenda will be approval of the consent agenda, endorsement of internal committees and endorsement of working committees.

The UC also will endorse the appointments made by the Faculty Assembly Aug 31.

In other business, the UC will discuss status reports, unfinished business and new business, such as discussion of line administrative positions.

Any comments or questions members might have, along with discussion, will be taken after the meeting’s main business.
