At least the dorms are equipped

NIU’s Student Housing Authority deserves a pat on the back and at very least a thank-you from students living in Grant North, Stevenson South, Douglas Hall and now Neptune North residence halls for finding a way to give students something during a time when they are geting less than their money’s worth because of higher education funding cuts.

Somehow the housing authority has found a way to take students money and actually give them something back in return.

Another computer lab has been added to Neptune North and will become functional on Oct. 1. This is in addition to the three existing residence hall computer labs housing a total of 68 computers.

The computer labs can be used by residents at no extra charge and were designed for the students to use as a convenience and to add an extra dimension to residence hall life.

It is sad to note that the university’s residence halls are on their way to becoming better equiped than its classrooms.
