The Environmental Protection Agency released a preliminary report saying the July 18 pesticide spill at the DeKalb-Taylor Municipal Airport was contained. DeKalb Assistant City Manager Gary Boden said a final report will be made after the EPA checks additional soil samples and reviews the chemical report.

The spill occurred when a crop-duster crashed off the runway as it attempted to take off. No injuries resulted.
