The DeKalb City Council gave preliminary approval to a five-year $1.75 million airport building project Aug. 3. The council will consider the matter further near the end of this month.

The project calls for a $750,000 fixed-based operator building, a $125,000 full depot and dispensing system, $300,000 for a T-hangar and $90,000 for capital improvements.
