Police are seeking a white male suspect on the charge of aggravated criminal sexual assault of an NIU student, said Police Detective Sgt. Charles Kross at a press conference July 22.

The rape occurred on July 20 at 6:15 a.m. in the victim’s apartment, located on the northwest side of DeKalb. The victim was asleep in bed when the assailant entered her room through sliding screen doors and threatened her with a weapon, Kross said.

He said the victim suffered emotional trauma but no other injuries.
