King leads Eastern Kentucky past Eastern Illinois, 91-84

CHARLESTON, Ill. (AP) — Tre King tied his career high with 22 points as Eastern Kentucky topped Eastern Illinois 91-84 on Thursday night.

Michael Moreno had 17 points and seven rebounds for Eastern Kentucky (12-12, 9-2 Ohio Valley Conference), which won its sixth straight game to maintain its hold on third place in the conference. Ty Taylor added 14 points and six rebounds. Jomaru Brown had 13 points.

Josiah Wallace had 25 points and six rebounds for the Panthers (11-12, 4-7). Marvin Johnson added 16 points and six rebounds. Jordan Skipper-Brown had 12 points.

The Colonels improve to 2-0 against the Panthers on the season. Eastern Kentucky defeated Eastern Illinois 77-74 on Jan. 9. Eastern Kentucky plays Southern Illinois-Edwardsville on the road on Saturday. Eastern Illinois faces Morehead State at home on Saturday.
