Defend our future
March 10, 1988
Mary is an education major. She’s bright and eager to begin her career. Unfortunately, Mary won’t be able to graduate because of cuts in higher education. Does this sound like someone you know? It may be you in several years if education funding doesn’t improve. Gov. Thompson, in his “budget bungling,” has not allocated a sufficient amount of money for higher education. If funding shortages and tuition increases continue, many students will be financially unable to finish school and the state will end up extinguishing brilliant minds and futures. I urge you all to write letters to state legislators and stay informed and aware of the funding situation. If we work together, we can accomplish our goals. This is our future!
