A possible increase in faculty and staff fees for club sports will be considered by the Student Association Recreation Committee Wednesday.

SA Recreation Adviser Todd Lokken said he has found “while student fees have been increased to pay for the recreation center and usage, fees for others (alumni, faculty and staff) have stayed the same.

“If SARC has the power to change these fees, they will be increased to reflect the student fees increase,” he said.

Rental rates should be lowered for student groups “since they are already paying for the building, while other groups are not,” Lokken said.

He and OCR Club Sports Coordinator Denise Thompson have reviewed the recreation manual to make recommendations to the committee, which has met once this semester, he said.

Lokken said, “I’ve been doing most of the committee work,” and “some (committee members) have been hard to get support from.”
