Victims shot ‘execution style’

CHICAGO (AP)—Two men are charged with attempted murder and armed robbery after taking more than $800 from two suburban restaurant workers before shooting them in a washroom, police say.
Bond was set at $2 million each for Charles Dabbs, 25, of River Grove, and Gerald Baumann, 17, of Franklin Park, said River Grove Police Sgt. Roger Loni Saturday.
Loni said Izbal Ardani, 20, the night manager at Rosati’s Restaurant in suburban River Grove, and Charles Petersen, 19, a pizza delivery driver for the restaurant, were marched into the washroom and shot “execution style” by two men who robbed them early Saturday.
During the robbery, the suspects demanded the keys to Petersen’s van and later left with it, police said.
After the shooting, Petersen staggered to the River Grove police station a block away, his brother Mark said.
Police called ambulances and broadcast a description of the van. Forest Park police spotted it and arrested Dabbs and Baumann, Loni said.
Ardani, of Bensenville, was in critical condition Sunday at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, with a gunshot wound in his head, said nursing supervisor Diane Geeting. Petersen, of Oak Park, was in fair condition after he was shot five times, Geeting said.
