Women’s b-ball

NIU is currently undergoing a great many changes. I enjoy following in The Northern Star the changes and the effects that take place in our university. I’m sure that, in time, the university will reach all of its progressive goals. However, at the present time I see one part of the university environment blossoming rather speedily.

Away from the mainstream attention rests a group of women who deserve some respect. The women’s basketball team, under the supervision of head coach Jane Albright, is definitely “putting the pieces together.” This group of young women exemplifies the term team spirit and obviously enjoys being together and working for a common goal. Their enthusiasm beams from the court every time they play, and even though they are a young team, they play like they have been together for years.

These women should be proud of the example they are setting. They represent NIU and want to actively make something out of it. Coach Albright and everyone involved in the women’s basketball team should be proud of the progress being made. The team doesn’t talk a big game, they go out and perform, and no matter what the outcome is, they give it their all.

I’m sure that before we know it, the pieces will have come together, and NIU will have a team to be proud of. These women are a team, and they will continue to win and lose as a team.

Keep up the good work, ladies.
