NIU Administration on wrong track

In regards to Nora Schattke’s letter from Oct. 19 concerning the problem of “promoted” racism at NIU I would like to say I couldn’t have said it better myself. I see no reason for any group which exercises segregation practices of any kind to be allowed to do so. If a “white” group were to be instituted on campus, I, too, would question the extent to which the uproar would approach.

Now don’t get me wrong; I never have, and never will promote racism. Some of my closest friends are black. I don’t choose (peers) by skin color or race; I choose them from the human race.

The administration is approaching the alleged problem from the wrong direction. They ought to open their eyes and get on the right track.
