I would like to thank Laurie Johnson for her thoughtful and stimulating commentary on the Holocaust and the human potential for cruelty and abuse of others. The many examples in history and current events of inhumane actions and victimization of others that are justified in the name of righteousness and high principles and which are supported or ignored by otherwise civil and well-meaning individuals, point to the need for independent thinking and the guts to cry “foul” on the part of all.
