While walking to class I was disgusted to see the creek behind the Village Commons Bookstore, 901 Lucinda Ave., literally clogged with garbage. It looks repulsive and irresponsible. I’m sure University Plaza residents and other students who walk this way have noticed it.

How about some action? Any organization concerned with the overall image of NIU and with the environment would gain favorable publicity by cleaning up this area. Hopefully someone will take my suggestion and act on it.

Our sports teams are bad enough—we don’t need garbage to embarrass us further.
