‘War is fruitless’
April 22, 1987
Regarding Dave Duschene’s column on the JLS and the draft, Mr. Duschene’s belief that a foreign war should not be met with apprehension or fear by the young men of our country saddens my heart. If the presence of the resistance movement had not been so strongly felt in the 70s, Mr. Duschene might not be here today to expound on the virtues of war. I would ask Mr. Duschene not to let the experiences of our nation’s finest, the Vietnam Vet, become meaningless—for in reality, war is fruitless.
