What’s going on here? Has the award-winning Northern Star commenced a policy of non-reporting?
Thursday, Feb. 5, over 120 people gathered in Kings Commons to rally against the testing of nuclear weapons in Nevada. The Northern Star covered the event with a front page photo captioned, “Liz Johnson … speaks to an interested crowd outside Holmes Student Center Thursday about protesting the testing of nuclear missiles.”
What about the other nine speakers, the peace songs, the people who camped overnight in the ice cold weather, the candlelight vigil, the new bonds formed between peace groups such as the Freeze, NIPAC and the John Lennon Society, or the 300-plus signatures on the letter to President Reagan? Did you really think a single photo could “cover” the whole story?
