Act professionally
February 17, 1987
In reference to your article regarding the incident at Grant Towers North on Feb. 7, it makes me furious to hear what Alvin P. Davis was quoted as saying. As a Graduate Student Adviser who gets paid by NIU, has his room and board fee waived, and receives financial aid to pay for his tuition, the least he could do is represent his employer in the best way possible—professionally!
That cunning remark was uncalled for. If a GTN resident would have come in and fallen on his or her face and required stitches (not to mention plastic surgery for correction), who would be at fault? Mr. Davis, please consider that possibility. How would you feel? Probably not too bad, right? After all, with your attitude you probably don’t have any feelings. I suggest you keep your mouth shut unless you have something intelligent to say. And by all means, adjust your attitude.
