DeKALB — The volleyball team’s schedule for 2019 was announced July 1, hosting a baker’s dozen games at Victor E. Court.

The Huskies open their season on Aug. 17 at home against Western Illinois before hosting the NIU Invitational on Aug. 30 and 31. NIU will have matches against Fairleigh Dickinson, SIU Edwardsville and UC Riverside.

After a trip to the Dayton Invitational, NIU hosts Texas Tech in their last non-conference home game at noon on Sept. 9.

Following two tournaments by Incarnate Word and Bradley, NIU opens Mid-American Conference play at 6 p.m. on Sept. 27 when the Huskies host the Eastern Michigan Eagles. The Huskies also host a game the following night, Sept. 28 against the Central Michigan Chippewas.

The Huskies return to DeKalb after a three-game road stint to host the Miami of Ohio RedHawks at 6 p.m. on Oct. 12.

The Huskies host another back-to-back to end October, playing the Kent State Golden Flashes on Oct. 25 and the Ohio Bobcats on Oct. 26.

NIU will finish their home schedule with three games in a row at Victor E. Court. The Huskies host the Toledo Rockets on Nov. 7, the Ball State Cardinals on Nov. 8, and the Western Michigan Broncos on Nov. 14.

Potential broadcast details are set to come out closer to the beginning of the season.
