Fill in the Blank: This semester in one word:

The Northern Star Staff reflects on the semester in one word.

This semester has been beyond hectic for me. Between classes and work, the list of to-dos seemed never ending.
However, I think that it made me a better worker and student at the end of the day. I was always crunching it until the deadline, but I never missed it. I was always able to get what I needed done, even if it was stressful getting there. I was able to learn how to get things done in a pinch and also learned the value of doing things early.
If I try to get ahead on assignments or work, I can accomplish so much more. This is something that I need to keep in mind going forward, so I can avoid another hectic and stressful year.
While I may have been beyond busy and felt like I was juggling 30 more things than I should, I learned that I can get things done quickly, but I also shouldn’t have to. I will try not to procrastinate in the future to help my sanity.

At the beginning of each semester, I tell myself this will be the one when I finally stay on top of everything and maintain a sense of control throughout. I am always proven wrong, usually early on.
This semester, like most others, started strong but is ending with me feeling as though I’m just scraping through, on the brink of ruin. That’s being dramatic, of course, but as the pressure builds, it can make all of the deadlines and projects feel all the more overwhelming.
I’m certainly guilty of letting assignments pile up until there’s almost no time to complete all of them to my best ability, and that’s when coffee and some disciplined late-night essay writing sessions become essential.
Thankfully, the end is in sight, and just a few more all-nighters should get me to the other side of this semester.

This semester has been great for me in terms of being able to prioritize my workload. With school, work and extracurriculars, life didn’t give me a dull moment. Though I am not perfect, I tried to stay ahead of deadlines.
It was a challenge I faced weekly; however, I feel this has helped me be a better student. I have learned to give my time a little more planning for where it’s needed most.
With the semester coming to an end, I am excited to see all the piles go away.
This has been one of the best semesters I have had and would not exchange this experience for anything.
