With April 5 being National Deep Dish Pizza Day, there are a variety of restaurants in the surrounding area where you can celebrate the cheesy goodness.

Giordano’s

Located at 1840 DeKalb Ave. in Sycamore or 333 Executive Parkway in Rockford, Giordano’s offers a deep dish experience like no other. The pizzas are massive and the toppings and ingredients are top notch. Although it takes a bit longer to make specialty pies compared to standard pizza, it’s more than worth the wait.

Vinny’s

Located at 221 W. Lincoln Highway, Vinny’s is a local favorite for many. Their deep dish is incredibly thick and their prices are affordable. They have a speedy delivery service and a multitude of specials in their menus available on their website.

Pizza Pros

Located at 1205 W Lincoln Highway, Pizza Pros is another local favorite. Their deep dish hits the perfect balance of cheese, sauce and thickness. With a wide delivery radius to surrounding areas, extensive menu options, moderate prices and daily specials, Pizza Pros is not a place to pass up.

Sam’s Pizza

Located at 526 E State St., Sam’s was voted the best pizza place in the county by the Daily Chronicle in 2014. Their deep dish sports sweet sauce and melt-in-your-mouth cheese. Also, the bosco sticks; definitely get the bosco sticks.

Old Chicago

Located at 6280 E State St., in Rockford, Old Chicago has been serving the area for over 40 years. In addition to some phenomenal deep dish, they also boast a massive beer selection. Old Chicago also has its own free rewards program which features the World Beer Tour. Drinking 110 beers from around the globe earns you your own plaque on the wall of fame, in addition to other rewards.
