Northern Star Staff reflects on its favorite part of spring.

Spring is the time when the sun is out longer and the weather is warmer. Spring is one of my favorite seasons because everything that died during winter is now growing. Everything outside looks so fresh and beautiful. The warm weather and the beautiful scenery make me feel refreshed. Going to class no longer requires putting on numerous jackets, scarves and gloves. The warmer weather makes life feel easier.

The longer daylight also gives me more time to enjoy being outside. Before, I would come out of my night class, and it would already be dark. Now, it is still light out, and it makes me feel much happier about going to class in the first place.

Overall, it is safe to say spring makes me happier. I get so excited for the warm weather just around the corner. Summer feels closer than ever, and I can’t wait.

The most beautiful time of the year to me is spring. The birds have returned, and most importantly, the weather has significantly improved, so I can now bring out my light sweaters and shorts.

I can happily put away my gloves for another six months and enjoy this breath of fresh air. Another reason spring is my favorite time of the year is because I am able to show off my new clothes that would usually be hidden under my jacket. I can finally choose clothes I feel proud to wear.

Since I can wear my shorts now, this also means I can play basketball outside. This is a major outdoor activity I affiliate myself with in my free time. I like to play, and spring couldn’t be a better time to start back up. In all honesty, spring gives me a chance to be myself and enjoy the great outdoors.

The baseball season starting is my favorite part of spring. I grew up watching St. Louis Cardinals games and look forward to another winning season.

Every spring I hope the year will end with another World Series trophy, and this year is no different. Baseball is America’s pastime, and I love every aspect of the game. The ballparks, the food and the overall friendly atmosphere make me excited for the spring season. I especially look forward to the Cardinals v. Cubs games because they unite both sides of my family.

Besides the MLB, I also love going to my old high school’s games and the games of the Normal Cornbelters, a collegiate, summer-league baseball team. No matter where the games are, I love watching the best sport in the world.
