Letter to the Editor: Voting
October 31, 2018
We are in the final weeks of the 2018 election. I’ve had the chance to make the educated decision to support Carolyn Morris in her run for DeKalb County Clerk & Recorder. I had seen her many yard signs and carded fliers in various places in town, and decided to find out more about this extraordinary lady by connecting with her on both Facebook and Twitter, to see if she might just be the one I pick on Nov. 6.
The main element to Carolyn’s run, as I have read and seen, is that she is every bit as headstrong in this campaign as she is in the description she provides on her fliers and her websites.
She is as charming in person as she appears in her photos, which is an apparent sign of her desire to represent DeKalb County with grace and determination.
When I finally met her, she was in the middle of a meet and greet at the recent candidates night at the Egyptian Theatre. As soon as I met Carolyn in person, I knew she was my choice for our County Clerk’s office.
Her graceful presence was felt to all who approached her for information on her campaign and to inquire about her determined vision for the clerk’s office going forward.
The audience at the Egyptian Theatre witnessed Carolyn’s participation in a Q & A on stage and handle herself in a very professional manner.
From my seat, I heard and saw, on stage, a driven, motivated and headstrong lady articulate her words and voice her perception of the County Clerk’s office and a brilliant plan to carry it forward during her potential first term.
In an election with many options, featuring an array of yard signs, literature and presentations from all candidates, at times you need to meet the people who are vying for local office to hear what they have to say and how they carry themselves in the public.
I believe in my heart that Carolyn Morris is the quintessential choice for the citizens of the county that I call home.
