It’s time to finally visit the Hundred Acre Wood, once more.

This movie is a cinematic masterpiece geared toward nostalgic adults who once dreamed of having their own Pooh and playing in the Hundred Acre Wood.

“Christopher Robin” explores the adult character of A.A. Milne’s beloved children’s books. In this 2018 live action rendition of “Winnie the Pooh”, Christopher Robin has put all childish things away and become a product of post-war working class London.

As an overworked, underappreciated employee of a big-name corporate company, Christopher Robin’s childlike optimism and creativity is replaced with a mindset geared toward efficiency and productivity.

Winnie the Pooh, however, feels it’s time to save Christopher Robin from the Heffalumps and Woozles of the adult world. However, even Eeyore mistakes his dear friend Christopher Robin for a treacherous, no-fun Heffalump. It is up to Christopher Robin’s plush friends to help him rediscover what it means to have the perspective of a child and keep happiness in his everyday life.

Winnie the Pooh wants to remind his beloved Christopher Robin, and the audience, to allow the small things in their everyday lives to bring happiness, because according to Pooh, “nobody can be uncheered with a balloon.”

“Christopher Robin” is a must-watch for those college students out there who feel overwhelmed by the looming semester, because through metaphors and profound quotes, the audience is reminded that while everyone has to grow up, they don’t need to lose their happiness, too. There is beauty and fun in most things; you just have to be present enough to notice them.

So, as another semester starts up on campus, take a few notes from that “silly ol’ bear” and be careful not to let the Heffalumps or Woozles eat you for breakfast. If they try, your friends will be there to save you.
