Four Huskie women’s golfers honored

Four members of the NIU women’s golf team have been named Academic All Americans by the Women’s Golf Coaches Association.
Juniors Kelly Anderson and Brielle Ward were named All American Scholars for the third year in a row, and sophomore Isabella Samudio was named for the second time. Freshman Lauren Ingle was named for the first time in her college career.
For golfers to qualify to be an All American Scholar, they must have a GPA of 3.5 and compete in 50% of the team’s competitions.
Samudio owns the school record for the lowest round, 67, and owns a GPA of 3.9, while Anderson has a 3.989 GPA. Ward earned the honors with a 3.73 GPA.
“I’m very happy for these four ladies to see them honored as All-American Scholars,” said head coach Kim Kester in a July 3 press release. “It shows the hard work that they put in off the course every day to achieve at this high level Congratulations to each of them on this honor.”
