DeKalb — The women’s tennis team suffered another loss Sunday in conference play to Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

The freshman duo of Thisuri Molligoda and Maria Potsi went up against Rebecca Herrington and Audrey Berger at No. 1, but the match did not finish.

The second doubles match was won by Julia Sbercia and Peyton Gollhoffer of the Cardinals as they outscored senior Evelyn Youel and freshman Lara Slisko 6-2.

At the No. 3, Sarah Swiderski and Isabelle Dohanics clinched the doubles point for the Cardinals, knocking down senior Abigail Dekkinga and sophomore Evelyn Youel by a score of 6-2.

In match No. 2, Potsi was able to put up a fight, forcing an advantage set. However, it wasn’t enough to knock down Gollhoffer as she lost 6-0, 7-6.

Walker was able to put up four points in each set of match No. 3 but not enough as she was defeated by Swiderski 6-4, 6-4.

Dekkinga struggled against Dohanics in match No. 4 and lost 6-1, 6-4. Dekkinga has not won a singles match since Feb. 4.

Youel was able to capture the lone victory and point for the Huskies in match No. 5 by a score of 6-3, 1-6, 10-6
