bubbles
April 29, 2018
Did you know April 30 is National Bubble Tea day? Well, now you do! Honestly, I’ve never had bubble tea before so I decided to celebrate it by trying out this latest trendy tea!
For those of you who don’t know what bubble tea is, this drink is a Taiwanese tea-based treat with recipes containing teas mixed with fruit or milk. To make the tea a bubble tea, chewy tapioca balls and fruit jelly are often added to the mix.
Bubble Tea has gained popularity across the world and can be found at specialty stores throughout the United States like Fushi Yami and Panda House. After googling my nearest location, I found the locally owned Ma Tea Shop. This small little bubble tea booth is semi-local at the Fox Valley Mall in Aurora, IL.
There were so many options of bubble teas, I found myself musing over the selection for ten minutes, and ten minutes is like a whole day in “mall time!”
After feeling the glares from other customers not-so patiently waiting in line, I made the rash decision to order the passionfruit green tea with strawberry bobas.
This tea was so sweet the extra burst of dissolving orbs filled with strawberry juice was almost too much for my taste buds to handle! While this particular order was aesthetically beautiful, I would order a black tea instead to combat the sweetness of the boba spheres.
Overall, I would definitely drink bubble tea again. I think it would be fun to try all the different flavors to see which bubble tea combo is my favorite.
Go out at try this trend! I hope it is here to stay.
