DeKALB | DeKalb Police Department officials are investigating a report of shots fired at the 800 block of Oak Street Friday afternoon.

DeKalb and NIU police responded at about 2:03 p.m. to the off-campus shooting. It is unclear whether injuries have been reported. Officials are apprehending two suspects, according to an Oct. 6 Safety Bulletin.

Both are said to be dark-skinned males wearing all black clothing. There are reports that one suspect may have been carrying a sword at the time of the incident, according to a Safety Bulletin. Both fled on foot, but their whereabouts are unknown.

DeKalb Police Department officials did not immediately respond to request for comment, but they have requested that residents avoid the area as officials investigate. This story is developing.
