Author Tahereh Mafi “Shatters” Us with Upcoming Release

By Victoria Lambton

It was a typical, mundane Wednesday afternoon when Tahereh Mafi tweeted her followers at 2:05 PM to proclaim her anticipated, thrilling news. Teaming up with Harper, an imprint of HarperCollins Publishing, Mafi will be releasing a fourth installment to her “Shatter Me” series. The trilogy ended in 2014, until Mafi announced its continuation earlier in the year. Entertainment Weekly has revealed both the cover and a short excerpt for “Restore Me,” set to release in March 2018.

In case you’re not aware of Mafi’s first three novels in the series, it revolves around the main character Juliette, a teenager whose bare touch is fatal. In a dystopian-set world, The Reestablishment rules a dying, poverty-stricken nation and recruits Juliette to utilize her dangerous powers as their very own weapon. Mafi’s unique stylistic choices and colorful characters creates a universe involving everything from pain to love to redemption.

Although there are five months sitting between us and Mafi’s “Restore Me,” the wait to reunite with Juliette and Warner will be well worth it.
