Felon arrested following domestic dispute

DeKALB | A convicted felon was arrested Wednesday by DeKalb Police Department officials after they were called about a domestic dispute at the 800 block of Kimberly Drive.

The victim reported that Darrin Redmond, 22, of DeKalb, displayed a handgun during a domestic dispute. Police officials showed up to the scene at 12:41 p.m. and saw Redmond fleeing the building.

Officials pursued Redmond on foot to the 900 block of Greenbrier Road where they captured him and discovered that he possessed a loaded handgun.

Redmond was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a class three felony; unlawful possession of a firearm without a FOID card; and resisting a peace officer — both class A misdemeanors.
