Police officials investigating second armed robbery in one night

DeKALB | DeKalb Police Department officials responded to the report of an off-campus armed robbery at about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday morning.

The incident was reported to have occurred near the intersection of Russell Road and Moraine Terrace, according to a May 3 safety bulletin.

The victim alleged that two suspects approached him as he was walking. The suspects brandished a weapon and demanded personal property, according to the bulletin. No injuries were sustained because of the incident.

The suspects fled in an unknown direction. One was described as a light-skinned male between 6 feet and 6 feet, 4 inches tall wearing an orange hooded sweatshirt with red and black shorts. The other was described as a light-skinned male between 6 feet and 6 feet, 4 inches tall wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.

Police officials are also investigating the report of another armed robbery at about 9:15 p.m. Tuesday in a parking lot at 1110 Varsity Boulevard. The suspect from that incident was described as a dark-skinned male about 5 feet, 6 six inches tall with facial hair wearing a dark-colored jacket and dark-colored pants.
