Survivor to educate students
April 3, 2017
DeKALB | NIU graduate student Karli Johnson will give an interactive presentation called “Asking for It.”
The event will run from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight in the Holmes Student Center, Capitol Room.
This will kick off a series of events created for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Johnson is a survivor of stalking, rape and dating violence. She will be sharing her story and discussing topics such as these as well as bullying and consent.
The presentation will offer serious advice as well as fun. Safe-sex bingo is to follow her speaking. Winners will be rewarded with humorous sex-related prizes.
