Worst roommate experience ever: Passive aggressive notes
February 2, 2017
Q: Tell us about your worst roommate experience ever.
A: “My worst roommate experience included four girls in an apartment. Two of them were best friends already and the other girl was just a friend. I was an outsider who did not know any of them before moving in. I found them prior to school on an ad they listed. At first, we were all cheery and excited for the experience. It quickly changed when we realized we couldn’t stand certain habits such as dish washing and apartment payments. We never held apartment meetings but instead you would see a lengthy note posted on the fridge ranting about each thing that was bothering at least one person in the apartment. Certainly, this created tension. However, some things, like paying rent on time, were harder to do if you weren’t being helped by mommy and daddy. Things became so bad that when two of us went to ask about a lease for the upcoming year, we found out that the other two already signed a lease without letting us know about their plans. It was a major slap in the face. This horrible experience left hardly any of us talking to each other after the move out.”
