The Mid-American Conference champion Huskies will play the No. 15 seed University of Missouri Tigers from the Southeastern Conference 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Columbia, Missouri.

Both teams have a 25-5 record and were tournament champions in what is expected to be an exciting matchup.

The Volleyball team held an NCAA Tournament selection Sunday night at Fatty’s Pub & Grille, 1312 W. Lincoln Hwy. in DeKalb.

“I have really mixed feelings,” said sophomore middle blocker Meg Wolowicz. “Super excited. Great opportunity to play against a great team. It shows how good we are that [the selection committee] would put us up against this team. It feels really surreal that we’re in the tournament. They’ll be good minutes. I think we’ll be happy and have a go get it attitude.”

Junior outside hitter Taylor Krage has a sister that went to Missouri and said she has seen the gym already and enjoys the atmosphere.

“I’m really hyped up to be able to play,” Krage said. “When it comes down to it, it’s going to play like any other weekend. We are going to try and handle it with the same mindset we had going into the MAC Tournament”

Head Coach Ray Gooden says the game plan is as simple as NIU doing the best of they can versus Missouri.

“I am really excited about this opportunity to play against the SEC Champion,” Gooden said.
