Workshop to teach grant writing
November 3, 2016
A grant writing workshop will teach students about out of classroom skills. The workshop will cover the basic principals, common pitfalls and successful steps to take when writing grants.
Special guest Dr. Robert Porter, Ph.D., will speak from 1 to 4 p.m. Friday in Altgeld Hall, Room 315.
The differences between prose and persuasion are emphasized in the workshop. Attention is also given on how to effectively write what the grant reviewers want to hear.
Hosted by the Sponsored Programs Administration, the skills discussed about writing professionally can be important beyond grant writing itself.
