1. DeKalb Public Library will host their monthly Cookbook Club 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the library’s Bilder Family Meeting Room. This month features “I Didn’t Know My Slow Cooker Could Do That” by Better Homes and Gardens. During the meeting readers and cooks will get to taste on of cookbook’s dishes. The cookbook is available for checkout.

2. African Students Association will pass out food to the NIU community 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in the MLK Commons.

3. Businesses will hand out treats 4:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesday in downtown Sycamore for their trick-or-treating event. After trick-or-treating the courthouse lawn will have a giant cake cutting.
