Events students are looking forward to this fall

DeKALB | Students are readily filling their calendars with fall events that will be fun and helpful for this upcoming school year. We asked five students on campus what fall events they were looking forward to attending. Here is what they had to say.

Tailgating

“Tailgating because freshmen and sophomores can go out and connect with upper classmen. It’s a very big social event, and I’ve gone to them every year,” said junior electrical engineering and technology major Tan Bach.

The first home football game is 2:30 p.m. Sept. 17 at Brigham Field against San Diego State.

Internship Fair

“I’m looking forward to the internship fair this semester because the internship fair always gives students opportunities who don’t know about internships that are available to them, so they can always come and bring resumes. The fair is very important because you always want to know what jobs are available in your field,” said senior communications major Dantre Cole.

The internship fair is 10 to 3 p.m. Oct. 18. in the Convocation Center.

Poster Sale

“The posters event is pretty cool, I’m new to NIU, but the posters look really nice. I looked at the V for Vendetta poster, and I was like ‘whooo’ I might need to buy that because it looked really cool. The posters look legit, they aren’t cheesy or anything,” said junior elementary education major Kelsey Stone.

The poster sale will run 8 to 5 p.m. until tomorrow in MLK Commons, weather permiting.
