Pass/Fail: Career Leadership Expo; Unstable spring weather

By Kaylyn Zielinski

Pass:

Attending the Career Leadership Expo will give students the chance to learn how to effectively market themselves.

It is important for every student to know how to market themselves especially with today’s competitive job market. Students with any major will benefit from the expo as personal marketing is something necessary in every career field. Students can use personal marketing to get themselves hired and to potentially move into a higher position in a company later on.

The expo will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday in the Holmes Student Center, Glass Gallery Lounge and Capitol Room. The event is free.

On top of learning valuable information, there will also be free food served.

I encourage every student to take this opportunity.

Fail:

While the first day of spring was March 20, the weather has been reluctant to prove it.

The temperatures and conditions are changing so dramatically it is difficult to know what is going to happen outside in a few hours. Leaving for class students might need to wear a raincoat but on their way home need sunglasses.

One of the most important questions of the morning is deciding whether or not I will need to bring an umbrella to class with me and risk it getting turned inside out by the wind in case it does rain.

Students need to remember that the weather can change at any time so it is important to be prepared before leaving.
