Baker to hold town hall meeting on program prioritization

By Northern Star staff

NIU President Doug Baker will set the table for the release of the program prioritization results at a town hall meeting 1-2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Holmes Student Center, Regency Room.

The program prioritization results will be released Monday with one of five labels: candidate for enhanced resources, candidate for no change in resources, candidate for continuation with reduced resources, candidate for transformation or candidate for faze out.

Program prioritization, overseen by Provost Lisa Freeman, required each academic and administrative program on campus to submit a narrative to determine if program funds are being allocated appropriately.

In addition to information on program prioritization’s release, Baker will be available to answer any questions and give an update on where NIU stands with the state budget.
