Pass/Fail: Earth Week; Graduation tickets hard to find
April 22, 2016
Pass:
Earth is in dire need of saving through environmental initiatives. We as humans need to start making environmental changes that will impact our world in a positive way. However, these impacts will not come suddenly nor drastically. We must start making minor improvements in the way we live our lives and treat planet Earth. This week on campus we are celebrating Earth Week. Fifteen organizations have come together to coordinate a week of events. Some activities that will be conducted throughout the week range from short documentaries, conservation regarding bats, panel discussions, vegetable education and an instructive environmentally–friendly lifestyle event. These are some ways that NIU as a community is working toward bettering our planet.
Fail:
It is obvious to me that getting a ticket to the various college graduation ceremonies this year is quite the hassle. All over Facebook I am reading post after post about people looking to snatch up some last minute graduation tickets. With our huge Convocation Center located right down the road from campus that provides ample parking and seating space for everyone, this shouldn’t be a problem. However, this does not seem to be the case. NIU needs a better system of organizing graduation and the selling of tickets.
