By Northern Star staff

Artist Laura Kina, professor of art, media and design at DePaul University, will lecture at NIU 5 p.m. April 5 in the Holmes Student Center, Capitol Room, according to an Asian American Center flier.

Kina’s lecture is a part of the Asian American Center’s INSIGHT Cultural Education Series and “OHANA” Series.

Kina, a fourth generation multiracial Okinawan American, is a contemporary artist and her textile-based solo show, Uchinanchu, covers topics like Okinawa-Hawaii diasporic identities, according to the flier.
