An off-campus armed robbery was reported to have occurred at approximately 10:04 p.m. Friday near the 1200 block of Blackhawk Road, according to an NIU safety bulletin.

The victim reported that he was approached by two individuals and one of them hit him in the face with a handgun, from which he received a laceration to his face, according to the safety bulletin. The suspects took the victim’s cell phone and fled the scene in a dark colored Nissan.

The male suspect with the handgun was described as a dark-skinned male wearing a baseball cap, a hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants. No identifiers for the second suspect are currently available.

DeKalb Police is investigating the incident.
