February 11, 2016
NIU’s Cor Cantiamo, a professional ensemble in affiliation with NIU’s School of Music, will collaborate with choral students from Woodstock High School and Woodstock North High School, as a part of Cor Cantiamo’s Masterworks Project.
The Masterworks Project is an educational outreach program designed to bring together aspiring high school singers, and professional vocalists in a single concert, according to a news release. Members of the high school choirs will have the opportunity to perform and rehearse with members of Cor Cantiamo, according to a news release.
Cor Cantiamo intern Sam Stuer said Eric A. Johnson, Director of Choral Activities at the NIU School of Music, has been interacting directly with the high school students.
“It’s going to be a pretty cool event,” Stuer said. “… I think the students are pretty excited.”
