Huskies fall 55-7 to Boise State in Poinsettia Bowl

The Huskies ended their season with a 55-7 loss to the Boise State Broncos at the Poinsettia Bowl on Wednesday in San Diego.

The Broncos dominated with 654 total yards and 35 first downs to NIU’s 33 total yards and 7 first downs. Junior wide receiver Aregeros Turner made NIU’s only score with a 95-yard kickoff return touchdown.

The Huskies have made it to eight consecutive bowl games and 10 in the last 12 years. They last played in the Poinsettia Bowl in 2013 against Utah State, falling 21-14. They went head-to-head with Texas Christian University in the same bowl in 2006, taking a 37-7 loss.
