Feed’em Soup Changes Basket Pickup Location

By Northern Star staff

Feed’em Soup Community Project has changed their location for basket pickup to the upstairs of 251 East Lincoln Highway.

The new location will include a free arcade for children and guests, said Derek Gibbs, co-founder of Feed’em Soup Community Project.

Feed’em Soup buys food in bulk from a major national food supplier and then divides and distributes it into baskets. Baskets can include produce, bread, rice, pasta, spices, herbs and other items. Twenty percent of basket costs go to feeding the community, according to Feed’em Soup’s website.

“[The baskets] bring in reliable consistent income that helps us pay rent, utilities and food costs for our free community dinners,” Gibbs said. “It also gives more people affordable access to the freshest produce, inspires their menus and saves them time at the grocery store.”

Additional changes include the ability to commit to one week, a new lower price of $30 a week and new meeting times.
