A student was pronounced dead after having fallen from the 11th floor of a tower at Stevenson Hall on Saturday.

The student was transported to Kishwaukee Hospital, where the student passed away, according to an email from Eric Weldy, vice president of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.

“I and the entire university are deeply saddened by this tragic news,” Weldy said, according to the email. “Our collective hearts and prayers are with the student’s family and friends during this difficult time.”
