Choose between yoga, video games and live music — or just do them all. Check out these local events and activities:
Today
Get rid of those Monday blues with a nighttime yoga session at the House Cafe, 263 E. Lincoln Highway. Yoga instructor Cher Ladford will lead the class, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. New guests can attend the event for free, while admission for returning guests will be $5.
Tuesday
Grab your instruments and head to the kickoff of Summer Jazz Sessions with Jacob Slocum and the Big Redtet. The open jam session will begin at 8 p.m. at the House Cafe, 263 E. Lincoln Highway. The event is free and will be held weekly until Sept. 29.
Wednesday
Test your skills at the weekly bags tournament at 9 p.m. at Fatty’s Pub & Grille, 1312 W. Lincoln Highway. Players will get a chance to win prizes and advance to finals, which feature a $500 grand prize.
Thursday
Learn about the science behind music with alumnus Andrew Morrison in Good Vibrations: The Physics of Musical Instruments. Morrison will talk about vibration, sound radiation and acoustics at the Stem Cafe event, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the House Cafe, 263 E. Lincoln Highway.
Friday
Enjoy live music, appetizers, cocktails and more at the Twilight Garden Party. The event will recognize the KishHealth System Hospice with a garden dedication, silent auction and raffle. The party will take place 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Kishwaukee Hospital, 1 Kish Hospital Drive.
Saturday
Cruise Night, an all-day community event that revolves around vintage cars, will take place 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on the corners of Somonauk and Elm streets. The event will feature a classic car cruise parade, beer garden, music and food vendors.
Sunday
Fatty’s Pub & Grille and head coach Rod Carey will hold the 7th annual Huskies Fore Hope golf outing at 10:30 a.m. at the River Heights Golf Course, 1100 S. Annie Glidden Road. The event will feature 18 holes of golf, raffle prizes and lunch at the course. A dinner banquet will be held after the outing at Fatty’s, 1312 W, Lincoln Highway. Tickets to the banquet are available at Fatty’s for $25.
