NIU baseball: Huskies to face No. 17 Iowa Hawkeyes

Baseball will take on its second ranked opponent of the season Wednesday.

The Huskies (15-24) will meet the No. 17 Iowa Hawkeyes (26-11) 6:05 p.m. at Duane Banks Field in Iowa City, Iowa.

The Huskies enter the series coming off a 4-3 win over the Toledo Rockets, but they’ve lost 12 of their last 14 games. The Hawkeyes lost their last game, but won three of their last four games.

NIU has struggled on the road this season, going 6-15. Iowa, on the other hand, boasts an 8-3 home record.

The only ranked opponent NIU has faced so far was the No. 5 Texas Tech Red Raiders on Feb. 20-21 in Lubbock, Texas. The Huskies were swept 4-0 while being outscored 25-4.

NIU is 2-6 in midweek games this season.
