NIU police will hold ALICE training to help attendees learn survival skills for incidents with violent intruders or active shooters.

ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter and Evacuate) training is held “to provide individuals with survival-enhancing options for those critical moments in the gap between when a violent situation begins and when law enforcement arrives on scene,” according to an NIU news release.

The two-day course is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 18 and 19 in the Holmes Student Center, Carl Sandburg Auditorium. Registration is $595 and may be done online.
